LuxYours refines your laser-sintered, Multi Jet Fusion, Binder Jetting, HSS, SAF, AKF and FDM parts by gently smoothing and sealing the component surface physically and chemically. The patented process enables different degrees of smoothing, depending on the desired surface quality. In contrast to other commercially available post-treatment processes, even the finest details and structures can be optimally preserved.

THE
CHALLENGE

The surface quality of components from individual additive manufacturing (AM) processes is inadequate for certain applications. They are often too porous, too rough and inhomogeneous in individual orientations (up-skin, down-skin, vertical). Depending on the geometry, material and component requirements, finishing processes such as vibratory grinding, shot blasting, infiltration, painting, coating or chemical smoothing are used to improve quality. Each of these processes has its justification, whereby the technological limits always become apparent when repeatable quality and the preservation of fine details are required, when internal channels have to be processed or thermoplastics (TPU) of different degrees of hardness have to be smoothed.

THE SOLUTION
OUR MPS-PROZESS

Multi Purpose Smoothing (MPS) is a physical-chemical process for smoothing and refining plastic AM components. The strengths of MPS are evident where other finishing processes reach their limits. Fine details are perfectly preserved thanks to the gentle process control and internal channels can be smoothed and sealed in a targeted manner. Especially with TPU materials from different manufacturers, the MPS process shows its advantages compared to other technologies.

We are concentrating on the finishing of components made of PA12, PA11, PA6 and TPU. Other materials are currently under development.

THE
LUX MPS-PROCESS

With the LUX MPS process, thermoplastic components from various AM processes such as SLS, MJF, HSS, SAF, AKF and FDM can be smoothed and finished in an eco-friendly and cost-efficient manner. Surfaces are sealed watertight and gas-tight and several properties are improved in a single step. The finished components are easy to clean, retain their conformity for food contact in accordance with EU 10/2011 and are ideally suited for design and medical products with prolonged skin contact. The color of components is intensified and protected, rotating components – such as impellers – and internal ducts can be optimized in terms of fluid technology.

LuxYours cooperates with AM Solutions

Just in time for Formnext 2025, AM Solutions – 3D post processing technology, a specialist in the post-processing of additively manufactured parts, and LuxYours, an expert in the smoothing and finishing of 3D-printed polymer parts, announce their strategic partnership. As part of this collaboration, Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH – the parent company of the AM Solutions brand – has acquired a stake in LuxYours.

X-Technik – Additive Fertigung

High-tech meets high pressure. At f´Framework Robotics from Rostock robots are produced which search deep down for unexploded explosives, lay down cables or reassess offshore constructions. The special thing is: These complex systems are almost completely made from 3D printed plastic parts. Produced with the HP Multi Jet Fusion Technologie (MJF) – for it’s decisive surface quality, the bavarian company LuxYours and their vapor smoothing technology, is the key.
